Wax filters are tiny inserts with small holes that are designed to prevent ear wax from entering and damaging the receiver. It's important to change them periodically.
Concha Sol™ Hearing Aids come with a pack of replacement wax filters. If you run out, contact us to order more.
- When should I change my wax filter?
- We suggest changing wax filters as soon as there is earwax in the wax filter. Everyone has different amounts of wax in their ear canals. As you become familiar with your hearing aids and how to care for them, you’ll naturally figure out what the right interval is for you.
- If you notice that you are unable to hear clearly despite a new battery and ear tip, it might be time to change your wax filter.
- How do I change them?
- The first step will be to remove the domed ear tip. After doing this, you should see the old wax filter at the tip of the wire (a small white circle). Next, remove one of the sticks from the gray case. Using the side without the white wax filter, gently insert it into the old wax filter and pull to remove it. To insert the new filter, just turn the stick around and place the new filter into the receiver where the old one was. It may require a small amount of pressure to insert. Ensure the wax filter is flush with the edges and snugly fits in the receiver.
