Having trouble connecting your hearing aids via Bluetooth? Here are some steps to try! If these do not work for you, please contact us, and we will help you figure it out.
1. Reboot/Power cycle your hearing aid
Open the battery door, then wait a few seconds and close the battery door on the hearing aid. This will restart the hearing aid and reset the built-in Bluetooth radio.
2. Change the batteries
If the battery of the hearing aids is very low, Bluetooth connectivity will automatically be disabled. Try replacing your battery to see if Bluetooth connectivity is better.
3. Turn Bluetooth off and back on again
There are two ways to turn Bluetooth off and back on again on your iPhone:
- Turn Bluetooth Off in the Settings app
- Open Settings
- Tap Bluetooth
- Tap the toggle switch next to Bluetooth. You’ll know Bluetooth is off when the switch is gray.
- Tap the toggle switch again to turn Bluetooth back on. You’ll know Bluetooth is on when the switch is green.
- Turn Bluetooth Off in Control Center
- Swipe down from the top right of the screen of your iPhone to open the Control Center.
- Tap the Bluetooth icon, which looks like . You’ll know Bluetooth is off when the symbol is a white-gray circle.
- Tap the Bluetooth icon again to turn Bluetooth back on. You’ll know Bluetooth is on when the icon is a blue circle.
4. Disable other Bluetooth devices
If your phone is connected to other Bluetooth devices such as a Bluetooth speaker or other hearing aids, this can interfere with the connection. Bring the hearing aid closer to the phone and disable other nearby Bluetooth devices - including any other hearing aids, if you have them.
5. Reboot the Concha Labs app
Exit completely out of the app and re-open it to try again.
To exit out of the app, drag your finger from the bottom of the screen upwards until the window gets smaller. Then, flick the window with the Concha Labs app upwards until it disappears.
6. Turn your phone off and back on again
Turning your iPhone off and back on is a simple troubleshooting step that can fix minor software glitches which could be the reason why your hearing aid won’t connect to Bluetooth.
7. Re-pair the hearing aids in the app
If your hearing aids were previously connected in the app, but are no longer connecting, try this method: In the app, please go to the "Profiles" section. On the upper right-hand side, in very small print, you will see "Manage hearing aids". Select this option and then select "Delete hearing aids" at the bottom of this screen. Once they have been deleted, you will see “Add new hearing aids”. Select this option and follow the prompts to re-pair your hearing aids.
8. “Forget” your hearing aid in your phone
"Forgetting" a device is an option available in your Bluetooth settings that removes the connection information for a specific device. It's as if the device was never connected to your iPhone. The next time you pair the devices, it will be likely they connect as if for the very first time. To forget your hearing aid device:

- Open Settings.
- Tap Bluetooth.
- Tap the blue “i” next to the device ConchaLabs ######.
- Tap Forget this Device.
- When prompted again, tap Forget Device.
- You’ll know the aid has been forgotten when it no longer appears under My Devices in Settings -> Bluetooth.
- Once you’ve forgotten the hearing aid, reconnect it to your iPhone by power cycling the hearing aid. To do this, simply open and close the hearing aid battery compartment.
9. Disable MFI hearing devices pairing if Concha Labs hearing aids are connected

- Open Settings.
- Make sure Bluetooth is on, then scroll down to Accessibility.
- On the Accessibility screen, scroll down and locate the field Hearing Devices.
- If the Concha Labs hearing aids are listed under MFI Hearing Devices, tap on the MFI hearing devices that appear and choose Forget this device. (Note: this only applies to Concha Labs hearing aids
- Tap on the MFI hearing devices that appear and choose Forget this device.
- Tap Settings (or Confirm).
